Definition Of Unweighting
1. Unweighting is a technique executed in skiing when the skier momentarily minimizes the pressure of body weight on a ski (or skis) before taking a turn by briefly bending down or straightening up the body. Unweighting is important when a skier wants to quickly change direction, but also when they’re jumping or avoiding obstacles.
