three turn
What Is The Definition Of A 3-Turn In Figure Skating?
1. The 3-turn is one of the first one-foot figure skating turns that an ice skater will learn, and always involves a change in direction and a change in blade edge.
A 3-turn is done from either an outside edge to an inside edge, or an inside edge to an outside edge. The 3-turn is always done on the arc of a circle and it gets its name “3” because it is the shape the figure skater’s blade makes on the ice after completing the turn.
