kiss shot
What Is The Definition Of Kiss Shot In Billiards?
A kiss shot is a type of billiards shot in which the shooting player strikes the cue ball with the intent of hitting an object ball so that it will ricochet off a rail or another ball (this contact is the “kiss”) before going into the pocket.
The term “kiss” is sometimes used to describe two object balls coming into contact with one another, but the “kiss shot” refers specifically to intentionally trying to get a ball into the pocket by bouncing it off of another ball or a rail.
