Definition Of Kick Turn
1. The kick turn is an effective way for the skier to change direction, turning around very quickly in a slope, out of bounds/off trail or narrow trail in only two moves. To do a kick turn, the skier is to remain stationary and use their poles for balance. They will then lift one foot around 180 degrees, followed then by the second foot.
The ability to do a kick turn is essential for the skier since it can be used when the athlete decides to turn around without running into another person or if they want to get off the chair and they are facing the wrong way.
