What Is The Definition Of End-Around In Football?
1. An end-around in football is when a wide receiver, who is lined up near the sideline, runs towards the opposite sideline and into the backfield where they will then receive a handoff from the quarterback. The end-around is not used often, and is most often used as a trick play to catch the defense off guard. Once the receiver gains possession of the handoff, they can either attempt to rush the ball forward or attempt a pass if eligible to do so.
Example Of How End-Around Is Used In Commentary
