chuck*ing
What Is The Definition Of Chucking In Football?
1. Chucking occurs in football when a player shoves or puts pressure on an opponent with his arm then quickly takes his arm away. This is done in an effort to create distance and throw off the opponent’s balance, usually the defender. This move results in a penalty, with the exception of a defender chucking a receiver within five yards of the line of scrimmage.
Once a player initiates contact with their opponent, they must stay engaged until the opponent is no longer in front of them. If they don’t remain in contact, then it results in a chucking penalty.
