What Is The Definition Of Center In Football?
1. The center is a position player along the offensive line in football and is responsible for snapping the ball to begin a play. On a normal and balanced offensive line, the center will have one guard and one tackle lined up along each side of them. In addition to snapping the ball, the center’s other main tasks is to aid in run and pass blocking.
The center must be both strong and agile, as they must move quickly to get into position to begin blocking after snapping the ball between their legs.
