What Is The Definition Of Carve?
1. Carving is a common and basic move in snowboarding and skiing. A skier/snowboarder carves into the snow when they move back and forth with the intention of increasing their speed. By moving their body side-to-side, the movement causes the board or skis to tilt to the right or left, therefore drawing a sweeping line into the snow.
A person can also draw carving lines into the snow while turning sharply. When the person turns and leans their body aggressively to one-side, the person then digs their ski/snowboard further into the snow, indenting a line or “carve” into the snow.
