bust*ed play
What Is The Definition Of Busted Play In Football?
1. This is a term used to describe a play in football that goes unintentionally wrong, immediately after the ball is snapped. A busted play usually occurs when there is some sort of miscommunication with one or many of the players on offense, therefore players are running different routes than what was originally called in the huddle.
When a busted play occurs, it’s usually a free for all and the offense’s main objective then is to not turnover the ball or lose as least amount of yards as possible.
