What Is The Definition Of Bully In Field Hockey?
1. A bully, or face-off, occurs when officials cannot determine possession after play stops. Face-offs commonly happen after injury timeouts, simultaneous fouls, or if the ball becomes unplayable if not out of bounds.
A bully is quite similar to a drop-ball in soccer in that the play restarts upon the completion of the drop-ball or bully.
What Happens In A Bully?
In a bully, two opposing players meet with the ball equally between them with the rest of their teams 16 yards away. The players then alternate tapping the ground with the opponent’s stick three times before clashing, trying to hit the ball in their team’s direction.
