Boxing is one of the oldest sports, with the earliest signs of the sport going back to Iraq in the 3rd millennium B.C. It is a combat sport that requires two opponents, to square off in a ring for a predetermined amount of time. Although the earlier boxing matches did not require gloves, the more modern and sanctioned fights require boxers to wear gloves.
