So, last night I was killing time and ended up watching a rerun of Cris Carter’s “Football Life”. I’ve seen it before and again walked away impressed
by the changes this man made to turn around his life and become one of the greatest players ever to play the game of football.
Then I woke up and read an article (and watched a video) about how Carter was giving future NFL players advice on how to avoid trouble at the annual NFL rookie orientation. Carter’s speeches at the rookie event is no secret, as it’s well documented that he shares his story of struggles and redemption. Wait, did he really just say that if I decide to be bad, just have someone else take the heat? Did he just say that?
Yes, he did (You can see the entire video below). And after watching the video himself, Carter took to Twitter to apologize.
Seeing that video has made me realize how wrong I was. I was brought there to educate young people and instead I gave them very…

bad advice. Every person should take responsibility for his own actions. I’m sorry and I truly regret what I said that day.”

It’s good to see that Carter has taken responsibility for what he has said, but it makes you wonder if he’s just doing it because this video is out there now and if he’s said this in year’s past.
