The Houston Texans’ J.J. Watt will end his year again to injury.
For the third time in four seasons, Watt has suffered a season-ending injury, this time tearing his pectoral muscle in their game against the Oakland Raiders Sunday.
Watt suffered the injury while tackling running back Josh Jacobs in the second quarter. Watt soon thereafter was evaluated, but diagnosis was still pending. However, Watt did hint after the game that he may have hurt his pec in a tweet.
Shoulda told my pec to look out lol https://t.co/LQDVoSheEr

A few hours later, Watt confirmed that he was lost for the year.
This game can be beautiful and it can also be brutal. Absolutely gutted that I won’t be able to finish the season with my guys and give the fans what they deserve. I truly love this game and can’t stand letting you guys down. Thank you for all of the thoughts & well-wishes.

At first glance, it appears the Watt was having a down year, with only four sacks through Sunday. However, with advanced stats, Watt was ranked first in creating 19 incompletions via first pressure despite being double-teamed on 29.8 percent of pass rushes. Only Jadeveon Clowney has been double-teamed more as an edge rusher.
Watt is scheduled to have surgery this week.
