Marcus Mariota may have been chosen second overall in the NFL Draft, but he’s number 1 for the top selling NFL jersey in it’s first month of sale.
The NFL online stores released it’s jersey sales rankings for the dates from May 1 – May 31, and Mariota sits at the top ahead of Jameis Winston who’s number two. Other notable people on the list are Tim Tebow at 15, who’s still trying to fight for a roster spot and the Seattle Seahawks, who have four places in the top 25. Russell Wilson is at number 4, Marshawn Lynch is sitting at number 13, Kam Chancellor at 19 and the Seahawks’ 12th man is represented at 20.
With the handful of rookies on the list, and other young players, it’s good to see some new blood among the rankings. Joe Haden and Ndamukong Suh are two jerseys that stand out for me. Haden’s because I think the new Cleveland Browns is growing on me and Suh’s because it’s just strange to see his name in the Dolphins’ colors.
