Well, he didn’t necessarily knock the cover off the ball, but a hit is a hit.
Not only did Derek Jeter get a hit in his final at-bat, but he knocked in an RBI… against the Boston Red Sox. You couldn’t have scripted an ending any better than this for the New York Yankees shortstop. It was even classy of the Red Sox fans to give Jeter a standing ovation and even chanted his name. Who would’ve thought that would have happened at Fenway?
