Was that title ‘click-bait’ enough for you?
Okay, good. Now that I got you here, it’s been reported that Michael Jordan will join the bidding group led by Derek Jeter to purchase the Miami Marlins.
Jordan, who will join the group that will now total 15 investors, will not contribute a substantial amount to the bid. However, with Jordan joining the group, it will bring another powerful sports figure to the franchise and someone who already owns a major-sports franchise. Jordan became the first former player to become a majority owner when he purchased the Charlotte Hornets in 2010.
Derek Jeter and the other investors have been rumored since April about a potential purchase of the Marlins.
